Bruce Virginia McCrary (Mamaw), 92, Kingsport, died Monday, December 16, 2013.
She was a devoted member of Ft. Robinson Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she taught the 5 year old Sunday School class for many years and also sang in the church choir. She owned and operated Bruce's Beauty Den in her home for over 30 years. She retired from working in the cafeteria in the Kingsport School System in 1991.
Bruce was preceded in death by her husband, G.K. McCrary; mother, Jody Elizabeth Deaton Webb; father, William M. Webb; grandchildren, Tony and Gary McCrary; brothers, Jack Webb, Clarence Webb, Ernest Vance, and Cluster Vance (Tub).
She is survived by her children, Betty Phillips and husband, Gene, Larry McCrary, and Patsy Perdue; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Ft. Robinson Baptist Church. The service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Dustin Allman officiating.
The graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park.
