Bud "B.J." Miller

Bud "B.J." Miller, 25, Sulphur Springs, went home to be with the Lord at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, following a brief illness. Bud was born in Johnson City and had spent his life in this area.

He was preceded in death by his step-grandfather, Dennis Sherfey; grandparents, Oda and Gladys Miller; grandmother, Louise Holland; and aunts, Lorenia Rosenbaum and Betty Lou Holland.

Bud is survived by his wife, Cynthia Henry Miller of Franklin, NC; children, Brandon Miller and Summer Miller of Franklin, NC; mother, Penny Garland; step-grandparents, Dewey and May Garland of Roan Mountain, TN; stepfather, Stephen Garland of Roan Mountain, TN; father, David Miller & stepmother, Alice Hamilton Miller of Bristol, VA; two brothers, Daniel Lee Miller of Jonesborough, TN and J.B. Miller of Roan Mountain, TN; three stepsisters, Teresa Harrington of Bristol, VA, Lisa Keith of Castlewood, VA, and Melissa Mullins of Castlewood, VA; three stepbrothers, Dwayne Hamilton of Castlewood, VA, Corey Garland of Roan Mountain, TN, and Nicholas Oaks of Roan Mountain, TN; grandfather, Vestil "Bud" Holland, Sr.; grandmother, Peggy Sherfey; step-grandmother, Phyllis Holland; special foster grandparents, Roy and Elsie Whitaker; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 18th, from 6-9:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 19th at 2:00 pm at the Hamlett-Dobson Fall Branch Chapel with Rev. Charlie Byrd and Rev. Teddy Phillips officiating.

Interment will follow the service at Bacon-Kincheloe Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may make contributions to the family to assist in their funeral expenses.
