Buford Delee Horner

Buford Delee Horner, 80, Kingsport, passed away early Thursday morning, May 10, 2018, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Nickelsville, VA, but had spent most of his life in Kingsport. He had 22 years of military service and worked at Kingsport Press for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Evert and Pearl Boatwright Horner; and sisters, Syble Rhea and Margaret Howard.

Buford is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hutchings; his partner in life for over 43 years, JoAnn Horner; granddaughter, Lauren Briana Dunn; great-grandson, Ryker Ashton; stepson, Rick Hensley; step-granddaughter, Beth Hensley; several nieces and nephews; and good friend, Ray Castle.

Special thanks to the nursing staff and hospice at The Waters of Johnson City, a very caring nursing home.

The graveside service will be held at 10:45 am at Mountain Home National Cemetery on Monday, May 14, 2018. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Posts 3/265.
