Burley Robert Tunnell

Bob Tunnell, 68, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and war veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam. Bob was employed with Daniels Construction and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. He was a member of Rolling Thunder POW-MIA Chapter 4 Tennessee. Bob was a member of the Eagles, Moose, VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burley and Roxie Tunnell, and infant sister, Jeweldean Tunnell.

Bob is survived by his sister, Brenda Simpson and husband, George; niece, Shelia Bingham and husband, Donnie; great-niece, Stephany Lyons and husband, Johnathan; and great-great-nephew, Cameron Lyons, all of Kingsport.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Baker and Dr. Amos Lockhart officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Providence Cemetery in Rogersville, TN. Military Rites will be provided by American Legion Posts 3/265.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church, 201 Stadium Drive, Kingsport, TN 37664.
