Burlie Bowser Hammonds, age 69, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Burlie was the daughter of the late Herman and Ida Bowser. She was also preceded by a brother, Melvin Bowser, and two sisters, Leta "Red" Chase and Buena Fleenor.
Burlie was employed in various fields until her retirement. She loved to cook and do arts and crafts and share them with her family and friends.
She is survived by a brother, H.C. Bowser, and a sister, Naomi Depew, both of Kingsport. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kelly Dykes officiating.
Interment will follow East Lawn Memorial Park.
