C. Elmira Goad

“Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of his Saints.”

Elmira Goad, 83, passed away, Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Holston Valley Medical Center, after a recent sickness. Elmira was born May 21, 1940 to the late Ivan A. and Fannie M. Christian. She was a former employee of 42 years of Sullivan County. In her younger years she was a Sunday school teacher of small children. Elmira was an excellent seamstress and cook. She was loved so much and will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ivan Christian, Jr.; sisters, Geraldine Day and Glenda Garland.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Goad; daughters, Connie Williams and husband Charlie,  Deborah Fernando; grandsons, Nicholas Fernando of Vallie Cruze, NC and Michael Fernando of Omaha, NB; sister, Elsie Crawford; brother, Gus Christian; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 3:30-5:00pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 5:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Travis Courtney and Pastor David Spears officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 11:00am at Mowell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Fernando, Michael Fernando, Wayne Goad, Charles Williams, Lynn Jobe and Larry Jobe.
