II Samuel 12:22-23 ? And he said, while the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, who can tell whether God will be gracious to me, that the child may live? But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
Carissa Rebecca Irwin, 9 days old, Kingsport, died Thursday, February 1, 2007, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was loved by her whole family, but it pleased the Lord to take her from us.
Her paternal grandmother, Patricia Irwin, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her parents, Rev. John M. and Jennifer Irwin of Kingsport; one sister, Elena Irwin, and one brother, Micah Irwin, of the home; grandparents, Rev. John W. Irwin, St. Louis Missouri, and Ken and Helen Strickland, Kingsport; many aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles; and 15 cousins.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Gardners Chapel Cemetery.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Arcadia Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Gullett officiating.
The family would like to send a special thanks to their church family.
