Carl W. Hite

Carl W. Hite, 73, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, December 28, 2013.

A native of Sullivan County, he was the son of the late Flemings and Orabelle Bryant Hite.

In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his daughter, Gail Fowler; grandson, Joseph Hite; sister, Jean Ward; and brother, Gerald Hite.

Carl is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruth Hite of the home; sons, Ronnie Hite and wife, Charlotte, Kingsport, and Bobby Hite, Kingsport; daughters, Sheila Fields and husband David, Kingsport, and Kathy Godsey and husband, Robby, Kingsport; daughter-in-law, Pam Long of Oakridge, TN; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013, at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Johnny Gibson and Brother Kelly Dykes officiating.

The graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jack Collins, Jacob Donelson, Jacob Wells, Myron Marshall, Chris Frazier, David Fields, and Terry Nunley. His grandsons will service as honorary pallbearers: Ronnie Hite, Jr., Bobby Hite, Jr., Josh Fowler, Adam Fields, Jordan Hite, and, his best friend, Sam Bishop.
