Carl Wayne Overbay

Carl Wayne Overbay, 83, of Kingsport, died Monday night, October 15, 2019, at his home. Carl retired from the U.S. Post Office with over 50 years of service. He was a USAF Veteran and enjoyed his family and playing golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Clee and Carrie Overbay; sisters, Barbara Dingus and Jackie Tribble; and brothers, Ancel, Bob, Keith, Eddie Jr. and Billie.

Carl is survived by his wife, Judi Overbay; sons, Gary (Phoebe), Todd (Janice) and Van (Lee); stepsons, Joe Taylor (Maywun), and Andy Taylor; grandchildren, Mark (Megan), Josh (Andie),  Jess (Chantelle) and Kayla; step-grandchildren, Nick and Chloe Taylor; great-granddaughter, Annabelle Overbay; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2019 in the chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at noon with Danny Howe officiating.  A family inurnment service will be conducted at First Broad Street United Methodist Church Columbarium.
