Carol Barnes

Carol Barnes, 78, of Fall Branch, went home to Heaven on August 16, 2018. Carol was a loving and much loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend to many. She opened her heart and her life to so many people and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was a housewife most of her life, but Carol will be remembered fondly by many students at Daniel Boone High School where she was a substitute teacher in the 70's and 80's, affectionately known as "Mamma Barnes."
Carol was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Ida Payne Jones and Lloyd Jones; her father, Cecil Cline; three brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory are the love of her life and husband of 56 years, Johnnie Dale Barnes; loving and devoted daughter, Leatha Barnes; the joys of her life, grandson, Kyle Barnes and wife, Heather; granddaughter, Maighdaylyn Barnes; two beautiful great-granddaughters, Caelyn and Alexys Barnes; her foster daughter, Amy Jones Abdelfattah and granddaughter and grandsons, Jasmin Solinsky, Jessee Abdelfattah and Jayven Abdelfattah, all of Jonesborough, TN; two brothers, William (Bill) Cline and wife, Margie of Venice, FL, and Charles Cline and wife Beverly of Nokomis, FL; sister, Cecillia Taylor and husband, Ogburn of Brodnax, VA; sister-in-law, Reba Barnes of Fall Branch, TN; brothers-in-law, Jr. Dockery and Bobby Miller of Kingsport, TN; a very special adopted granddaughter, Ashley Navarro; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including much-loved nieces, Lillian Compton, Janet Cline, Judy Cline Novak, Ann Taylor Wright, and Priscilla Moore; and special nephews, Dwayne Barnes, Chuck Cline, and Kenny Cline.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with her cousin, Rev. Russell Payne, Jr., and Preacher Vic Wallace officiating.
Burial will follow at Logan's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Barnes, Dwayne Barnes, Bud Willis, Jack Rhoten,
Jessee Abdelfattah, Jayven Abdelfattah, and Ron Hite.
