Carolyn Ann Taylor Bowman, 67, Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Wexford House surrounded by her family. Born in Kingsport on January 15, 1947, a daughter of Maggie Taylor of Lebanon, Indiana and the late Ray Taylor, she had resided in this area her entire life.

She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Carolyn will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mom, mamaw, daughter, sister and friend who enjoyed her time with her family and who loved her cats.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the 400 Wing of the Wexford House and to Amedysis Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Ray Taylor, brother, Garland Taylor and brother-in-law, Kenny Anderson.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 49 years, Carlyle L. Bowman; sons, Randy Bowman of Elizabethton, TN, and Freddie Bowman of Kingsport, TN; two grandchildren, Noah Jacob Bowman and Katie Lynn Bowman; mother, Maggie Taylor of Lebanon, Indiana; sisters, Ella Sue Mann and husband, James of Kingsport, Faye Anderson of Lebanon, Indiana, and Deborah Snyder of Lebanon, Indiana; brothers, Billy Taylor and wife, Vicky of Lebanon, Indiana, and Bobby Taylor and wife, Janet of Lebanon, Indiana; sister, Barbara Shahan and husband, Mike of Frankfort, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Baker and Rev. Earl Hulse officiating.

The graveside service will be conducted on Saturday at 12:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Those attending committal services are asked to assemble at the graveside by 11:45 a.m. Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Joel Bowman, Steven Bowman, Michael Bowman, Dakota Bowman, Paul Bowman and Noah Bowman. Honorary pallbearers will be John Bowman, James Mann and Ronnie Bowman.
