Carolyn Yvonne Douthat

Carolyn Yvonne Douthat went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2020 at Holston Valley Medical Center after a 5-year battle with cancer.  She was a longtime member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church where her father, Rev. Joe W. Byrd, was pastor for 61 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Eileen Barker Byrd; father, Rev. Joe W. Byrd; and her son, Donnie Taylor.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Edward Eugene Douthat; son, Joseph Taylor and wife, Kerry; daughter, Kayden Taylor Douthat; grandchildren, Nakiche’ Taylor, Alisha Brandt and husband, Will, and Leah Taylor; 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

She was laid to rest on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Graveside services were officiated by Pastor Phil Whittemore.

The family would like to thank Holston Valley Medical Center W-3 and Hospice, and Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home for taking such good care of our loved one.
