Carolyn F. Gibson

Carolyn F. Gibson, 78, Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 17, 2019. Carolyn retired from the Kingsport Press after 31 years. She loved flowers and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul G. Gibson; parents, Jack and Inez Barr; brothers, Billy, Benny and Elmer Barr; and sisters, Elsie Ford and Martha Wright.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Melissa J. Killebrew (Dennis) and Lori Bledsoe; son, Lynn Gibson (Trish); grandchildren, Ashley, Jamie, Nathan and Whitney; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Summer and Levi; sisters, Nancy Christian, Betty Bailey and Dorothy Appleton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 pm on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Strong officiating.
The graveside service will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Fall Branch Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4660 Old Broadway St., Knoxville, TN 37918.
