Carolyn Faye Hamilton

Carolyn Faye Hamilton, 78, of Gray, went to her heavenly home early Wednesday morning, March 26, 2025. Born in Sullivan County, she later moved to Gray where she spent the remainder of her life. Carol was a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and a charter member of Gray Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and collecting different cookbooks. Carol spent her life looking after others, serving as a homemaker for her husband and two children, but the apple of her eye was her grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, R. C. Hamilton; parents, Lacy and Selma Morrison; sister, Henrietta Harrison; brothers, Calvin Brown, Rev. Ronald Morrison and Kermit Morrison.

Survivors include her daughter, Amy Hamilton; son, Greg Hamilton and wife, Shawna; grandchildren, Cheyanna and Brantlee; sisters-in-law, Faye Morrison and Margaret Hamilton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Amedisys Home Health & Therapy, Dr. McBride and trauma team, Pam Trantham FNP and Dr. James Goss for their loving care of Carol.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Gray Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Darin Harrison, Pastor Todd Jennings and Pastor Calvin McCray officiating.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park, Blountville.

Pallbearers will be Howard Morrison, Cody Morrison, Guy McCray, Derek McCray, Hal Ferguson, Gentry Ferguson, Aaron Hamilton and Steve Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris McCann, Wayne McCann, Sayhab Spears, Phil Deakins, Wayne Almany, Butch Robinson and Richard Hamilton.

Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the church to go in procession.
