Carolyn Rozelle Pope Knight, 68, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2010, following a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer.
Carolyn was born in Jackson, MS, raised in Nashville, TN, and had lived in Kingsport most of her life. She was a member of Way of Life Baptist Church. Carolyn loved to garden and was a full-time Mom, but her greatest passion was caring for others by volunteering to help the disadvantaged in the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Eula Pope, and four sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Arthur Knight; daughter, Sherri Dawn Knight, of Kingsport; son, Jacob David Knight and fiancee, Kimberly Dawn Mann, both of Kingsport; two brothers, Bobby Dykes and Andrew Pope, Jr., both of Nashville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends this Tuesday, October 12, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 1:00, with Rev. Johnny Gibson and Danny Manness officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted 10am Thursday, Oct.13, 2010, in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville, TN.
