Carolyn Morley

Carolyn Morley, 72, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 28, 2025, at her home. Born in Unicoi County, she was a 1970 graduate of Sullivan Central High School, 1987 honors graduate of East Tennessee State University with her bachelor’s degree and Tusculum with her master’s degree. Carolyn had taught special education in the Kingsport City School System for 25 years. She was a faithful member of Indian Springs Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was active in Bible Study Fellowship.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, James and Joyce McKinney; brothers, Steve and Terry McKinney.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, David Morley; daughter, Deborah Smith and husband, Mark; sons, Nathan Morley and wife, Bonny, Matthew Morley; grandchildren, Cortney and Daniel Morley, Madeline, Makenzie and Marissa Smith; brother, Mark McKinney and wife, Pam; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for the loving care that was given to Carolyn during her illness. 

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park with Chaplain Eric Perry officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Indian Springs Baptist Church Music Program, 214 Hill Rd., Kingsport, TN 37664.
