Carolyn Byers Parrott, 70, of Largo, FL formerly of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 2, 2010, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL.
Carolyn was born and raised in Kingsport, graduated from Lynn View High School, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at East Tennessee State University. She was a Christian, and attended several area churches over the years.
She lived a full life and had the opportunity to travel the country, and moved to Florida in 1986. She and her husband, Charles, operated a successful business out of their lakefront home in Largo, FL, for the last 16 years.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Clarence W. Byers.
Surviving her are her husband of 25 years, Charles W. Parrott, III; daughters, Christy Grills, Largo, FL, and Kimberly Egan and husband, Michael, of Knoxville; son, Richard Grills and wife, Laura, of Rochester Hills, MI; grandchildren: Sara Grills, Katie Grills, both of Rochester Hills, MI, and Hannah and Noah Egan, both of Knoxville; her mother, Pauline Byers of Kingsport; sisters, Jean Stevens and husband, Darryl, of Kingsport, and Judy Thomas, of Unicoi; a brother, Bill Byers, and wife, Brenda, of Kingsport; former husband, Wayne Grills, of Kingsport; special friends, Mary Wissel and Karen Conduzzi, of Largo, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael Egan, Noah Egan, Bobby Stevens, Matthew Stevens, Mark Stevens, and Mike Stevens.
