Carolyn M. Wallen Nana, 68, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 10, 2010. She was born in Sullivan County, and was a member of Beech Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Blackwater, VA. Carolyn attended Hickman's Memorial Baptist Church.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Nana, and mother-in-law. She loved everybody, and had many close friends and family. Mom loved her flower gardens, and enjoyed making fleece throws to give to her friends. She loved all kinds of animals, especially her cat Susie!
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Kate Moore; and niece, Charnita Dawn Moore.
She is survived by her husband, Onzie Wallen; son, André Wallen and wife Tammy; two granddaughters, Morgan and Brooke Wallen, all whom she loved so very much! She is also survived by brother, Gerald Moore and wife Willa; sister, Patty Osborne and husband Ray; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home in Kingsport. Funeral services will be at 7:00, with Evangelist Pat Hammond, Rev. Raymond Hammonds, and Elder Walter Willis officiating. Singing will be y JE & Carol Mock.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Last Supper. Pallbearers will be family & friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to Beech Grove Baptist Church, c/o Brenda Mayes.
The family would like to say thank everyone for all of the prayers, calls, visits, food, flowers, and everything that any person did in any way to help during this time. It is all gratefully appreciated.
