Carson Eugene Carter, Sr. went to be with the Lord the 11th day of October 2016. Hewas born in Blackwater, Virginia to James D Carter and Katie Carter. He was of BaptistFaith. Carson served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during the Korean War. He retired fromAFG Greenland Glass plant after 33 years of service. Carson loved his retirement verymuch, enjoying his newfound free time with his wonderful wife. He loved to work outside, talk to his neighbors, watch sports, take walks through the neighborhood, and enjoy time with his children and grandchildren. Carson was a loving husband, father, and grandfather for all the days of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Abe, Jess, O.D., and Thomas Ralph Carter; and his lovely sisters, Beatrice Jones, Sue Robinette, Grace Johnson, Ella Jones, and Addie Price.
Carson is survived by his wife, Joann F. Carter; son: Carson E. Carter and his wife Beverly of Tacoma, WA; daughter, Lasuela D. Carter of Kingsport, TN; grandson, Joseph A. Carter and his wife Haley of Washington D.C.; granddaughter, Margaret E. Carter of Columbia, MO; step grandchildren, Sarah and Spencer Day of Tacoma, WA; great grandsons: Ronan Carter and William Carter; great step dranddaughter, Rossonya Ross; sisters, Theda Faye Price and Sallie Shivley; several nieces and nephews; and granddogs: Abbie, Chloe, and Spook.
Carson wished that no service be held in his name. In lieu of flowers, please donate the money to the charity of your choice.
