Carson Taylor, 38, of Kingsport, died peacefully Thursday night, August 17, 2017, at home, after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. Carson was a 1997 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and attended The College of Charleston and Carson-Newman College. He was an Eagle Scout, enjoyed outdoor activities on Boone Lake, and fishing in Alaska on the Kiawa River for silver salmon. Carson was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was an animal lover and enjoyed traveling with his father and grandfather, C.M. Taylor, especially to Taiwan.
He was preceded in death by 2 uncles, Cary Taylor and Mark Taylor of Kingsport.
Carson is survived by his parents, Stewart and Sheila Taylor; 2 brothers, Morgan Taylor and wife, Heather, and Russell Taylor and wife, Ashley; grandmother, Kathryn Taylor; aunt, Paula Taylor; 2 nephews, Collin and Cameron; niece, Ellenor; and several cousins.
Special recognition goes out to Rob Henderson and Matt Pirkle for their care of Carson during his illness.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-7:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Sharon Amstutz officiating.
