Catherine Clark Dick

Catherine Clark Dick, 89, of Kingsport, died Sunday, August 16, 2009, at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital after a period of poor health.

Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, she resided in Gulfito, Costa Rica before moving to Kingsport in 1953. Catherine was a member of Holston Valley Unitarian Universalist church in Gray since 1965.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Dick; brothers, Jack, Don, Alex, and Bill Clark all of British Columbia; sisters, Anne Ritchie of Seattle WA, Mary Humphrey of British Columbia, Canada; beloved brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald K. Good and wife Leigh Jean.

Survivors include her two sons, Stephen William Dick, Athens, TN, Joseph Clark Dick, of the home; one sister, Margaret Hammersley, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; dear friends, Janice Ownby, Kingsport, TN, Kim Whiston, Sulphur Springs, TN, Cathy Noel, Kingsport, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home in Kingsport.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 8:00p.m. with The Rev. Jacqueline Luck officiating.

A private graveside service will be held Friday.
