Catherine Spangler

Catherine Spangler, 86, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Catherine was born in Burnsville, NC and lived in Erwin until moving to Kingsport in 1963. She was a nurse working general duty and private duty in Johnson City. She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa and Will Adkins; son, Garry Edwards; daughter, Judy Gaylor; and several sisters and brothers.

Catherine is survived by her husband, Bob Spangler of the home; daughters, Shirley Moore of Kingsport and Betty Bell and husband, Larry Bell of Kingsport; stepchildren, Glen Spangler, Lana Quillen and husband, Randy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Special appreciation to Amedisys Hospice and the loving compassionate care of Brookdale of Kingsport.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 pm on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with Roger Winegar officiating. Burial will follow in East Tennessee Cemetery
