Cathy Skelton Smith, 51, 1236 Nassau Drive, Kingsport, TN, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Monday May 14, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer at her home surrounded by her family. A lifelong resident of Kingsport, she was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and attended East Tennessee State University.
Cathy was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved life and lived it to the fullest, but most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. She was loved by everyone who knew her.
Cathy was Director of Finance with Tri-City Airport for almost twenty years, a career she loved and enjoyed. She attended Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Her maternal grandparents, Ola and Everett Wright, and paternal grandparents, Charlie and Ethel Skelton preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Nicole Calhoun and husband Jason, Kingsport, TN; Kristin Smith and fiancé Randy Hilton, Kingsport, TN; son, Travis Gardner and Kristen Liner, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Jaiden, Jamison, and Logan and an expected grandchild in October; parents, Jean and Eddie Skelton, Kingsport, TN; brother, Eddie Skelton, Jr., Peoria, IL. Several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours are 5-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Baker and Patrick Wilson officiating.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are Travis Gardner, Jason Calhoun, Randy Hilton, Bob Gardner, Bob Calhoun, Charlie Wright, David Wright, and Larry Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Pleasant View Baptist Church, 2101 Stadium Drive, Kingsport, TN 37664.
