Cecil Moore Frye

Cecil M. Frye died Friday, October 21, 2011 of lung cancer. He was the son of the late Dr. Chas. G. Frye and Freda Covey Frye. Cecil was 82.

He was born and raised in Kingsport, graduating from Dobyns-Bennett High School and East Tennessee State College. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Cecil worked for Foote Mineral Company for 36 years in Duffield, VA and Exton and Frazer, PA retiring in 1991.

He was a member of the American Legion, Hammond Post #3 and did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels and VITA Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. He was an active hiker and bicyclist until 2010.

Besides his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Frye, and half-sister, Mildred Burton.

He is survived by his wife, Adell Gilliam Frye of Kingsport; two daughters, Carrie Frye of Marston, NC, and Emily Bindschusz of Phoenixville, PA; three sons, Russell Frye and wife Anne of New Milford, CT, Charles Frye of West Chester, PA, and Bruce Frye and wife Joy of Downingtown, PA; two grandsons, Daniel Bindschusz of Phoenixville, PA, and Kyle Frye of New Milford, CT; two granddaughters, Rebecca Bindschusz of Phoenixville, PA, and Ashley Frye of Boston, MA; one brother, Dr. C. James Frye of Kingsport; two nieces and six nephews.

Those wishing to pay their respects to the family may do so at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
