Celia A. Suit of 901 Teasel Dr., Kingsport, TN passed Wednesday, June 15, 2011, after a long illness.
Originally a resident of Franklin, NC, Celia resided in Kingsport since 2000 with her late husband James R. Suit. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Suit.
She is survived by her son, Curtis Suit, and his wife Christine of Swedesboro, NJ, as well as Carl and Lauren Suit of Villas, NJ; James and Raechel Suit and their daughter Norah, of Swedesboro, NJ. She is also survived by her granddaughter Laura and Ronnie Hite and their daughters Montana and Marina of Kingsport, TN. She has one surviving brother, H. C. Allen, Jr. and many nieces and nephews.
She was a survivor of the Great Depression and worked for the US Government during WWII in Washington, D.C. She worked for many years with Nantahala Power & Light in Franklin, NC and was a longtime member of the Franklin Presbyterian Church. She and Jim enjoyed the outdoors spending many hours camping, fishing, and working with the Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts of Franklin. She took great joy in visiting her grandchildren wherever they might be and spent many days traveling to New Jersey and Kingsport until moving permanently to the Kingsport area.
She was a strong and independent woman throughout her life with a caring heart for young, old and those in need. She loved a good joke and a good conversation
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 1-2 pm at Elmcroft Assisted Living.
