Cena Baines Ferguson

Cena Baines Ferguson, 78, Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on February 28, 1935 in Fall Branch. Cena was a 1953 graduate of Fall Branch High School where she was class president and valedictorian. She was a member of the all-county basketball team and was a Girl's State delegate. Cena retired from Sears as an officer manager after 34 years of service. She was a rabid UT fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Ferguson; parents, Ordie and Lola Baines; four brothers, Ordie Baines, Jr., J.R. Baines, D.L. Baines and W.C. Baines; two infant granddaughters; and nephew, Bill Baines.

Cena is survived by four children, David Ferguson of Fall Branch, Donna Sanders and husband, Ed of Kingsport, John Ferguson and wife, Jackie of Piney Flats, and Teresa Carter and husband, Robert of Greenville; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Sue Painter of Mt. Carmel; brothers, James Baines and wife, Ann, and Richard Baines, both of Kingsport; aunt, Juanita Castle, of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch, 2:00 pm with Rev. Truman Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Glen Cemetery in Fall Branch.

Pallbearers will be Robert Carter, Brandon Dezarn, Tim Roe, Dustin Roe, Dustin Overbay, Matthew Hensley, Jason Matthews and Travis Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be Fall Branch High School class of 1953.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 3101 Browns Mill Rd. #6, Johnson City, TN 37604 and to Oak Glen Cemetery in care of Joy Lyons, 462 Oak Glen Circle, Fall Branch, TN 37656.
