Cephas H. Sloan, Jr., 64 of Kingsport, TN went to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday, May 21, 2011.

Cephas graduated from Sullivan High School and University of Florida with his Doctorate of Pharmacy. Cephas worked as a community pharmacist for several years.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Harry and Maxie Sloan, H.J. and Alice Gilliam, all of Kingsport; and Uncle Audley Gilliam of Lexington, KY.

Survivors include wife, Carol Sloan of Cameron, NC; sons, Cephas H. Sloan, III and James Harry Sloan, II of Kingsport; daughters, Scherry Bryant of Pinson, AL and Franci Sloan of Kingsport; parents, Cephas H. Sloan, Sr. and Frances Sloan of Kingsport; brother, John Sloan and wife Lisa of Kingsport; and nieces, Carolyn Sloan of Knoxville, Jennifer Sloan of Johnson City, and Katie Sloan of Kingsport.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Russell Taylor and Rev. Doug Tweed officiating.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
