Charles Billie Pippin, 74, a resident of Bristol, Virginia, went to be with the Lord after losing his battle to Cancer on July 25, 2017.
Bill was known for his competitive nature in his vast variety of skills. He was a mentor to the young and a hero to the old, in his 25 years of service as a deputy sheriff in Oceana County, Michigan. Most recently he was awarded a world record in 22 Rimfire R50/50 Rifle competition. Bill not only enjoyed setting records he enjoyed being with everyone at the range. He built gunstocks and was part of a very special family at Kettlefoot. He took great pleasure in spending time with his family and hunting and fishing. Bill loved taking the grandchildren on hikes to Sugar Hollow and Grayson Highlands. He was a hero to some and loved by all, he will be truly missed.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 50 years, Laurel Pippin; his daughter, Sheila Lively; son, William "Bill" Pippin; granddaughter, Andrea Lively-Loyd (Wesley); grandson, David Lively (Lindsey); great-granddaughters, Alleyssa, Madolynn and Avery; great-grandson, Austin and his great-grandson & little buddy Andrew; his siblings, Donald Pippin (Laura), Betty Phillips (Elmer), Hobert Pippin, Guy Pippin (Judi), and Chuck Pippin (Mary Ann); and many special nieces and nephews.
