Charles "Chuck" Brummitt, 45, Kingsport, died Friday, October 2, 2009 at his home with his family by his side following a lengthy illness.
Chuck was a graduate of Sullivan North High School and was employed by J.P. Stevens,
A. & L. Industries and Wal-Mart while he was able to work.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death were his father, Bob Brummitt; brother, Bobby Brummitt; and grandparents, Charlie and Dorothy Simpson, Charles and Thelma Brummitt.
Surviving are two daughters, Krista Parks and husband J. R., Nickelsville, VA and Shyann Brummitt of Church Hill; one son, Darren Brummitt of Kingsport; his mother, "his hero and friend", Barbara Brummitt Kingsport; sister, Rhonda Hyatt and husband Mike, Kingsport; one niece, Miranda Fields and husband Mike of Louisiana; three great-nephews, Matthew Fields, Noah Fields and Peyton Fields; special friends, Mary Vanover, Bruce and Ilene Huffman, Larry and Vickie Lawson and Marlene and Jerry Hickman.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport and anytime at the home of John and Ilene Huffman. Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Pete Smith officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be John Huffman, Larry Lawson, Scott Simpson, Tommy Simpson, Mike Lawson, Tom Crigger, Terry Simpson and Greg Simpson.
