Charles J. Christian

Charles (C.J.) Christian, 90, of Kingsport passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. He had been a resident of Kingsport for most of his life. Charles was a Veteran of the Navy. Following his service in WWII and the Korean War, Charles was employed at Mason Dixon Line where he worked for 41 years. He was a member of the American Legion for over 50 years. Charles was a member of Litz Manor Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Nadine Christian; and uncle, Ray Christian.

Charles is survived by his wife of 24 years, Helen Jo Christian; two sons, Phil Christian and wife, Nancy of Knoxville, and Jeff Christian of Kingsport; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Josh, Maggie, Grace, Jordan, Rhonda, and Brent; and two great-grandchildren, Abby and Reece.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2-4:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm with Rev. T. Richard Harris officiating. Burial will follow in First Baptist Church of Fall Branch Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
