Charles Patton ?Pat? Churchwell, 73, 2724 Princeton Road, Kingsport, died early Sunday morning October 7, 2007 at his home.
A lifelong resident of the Kingsport area, he was a graduate of Sullivan High School and served with the U.S. Army.
He formerly worked as a pipe-fitter.
Pat was a member of Cloud?s Bend United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenna and Hal ?Prod? Churchwell; and his wife, Edith Milhorn Churchwell.
Surviving are his daughters, Susan Darnell and husband, Don, Kingsport, and Jennifer Salyers and husband, Marshall, Kingsport; sons, Gary Churchwell and wife, Karen, Kingsport, and Steve Churchwell, Nashville; five grandchildren, Joe Churchwell, Beth Churchwell, Jessie Churchwell, Matthew Salyers, and Zachary Salyers; brother, Jerry Churchwell and wife, Merreta, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family extends a special thanks to Adventa Hospice and Merreta Churchwell.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles Kilbourne and Rev. Homer Roller officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Ray Cox, Don Carr, Moses Rodgers, Jeremiah Churchwell, Buddy Foster, and Don Darnell. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Carroll and Paul Jobe.
