Charles E. "Buddy" Rodgers

Charles E. "Buddy" Rodgers, 69, Kingsport, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Pulaski, VA on November 20, 1946, a son of the late Charles and Helen Rodgers, he had resided in this area since 1969. He retired in 2002 from Eastman Chemical Company following 33 years of service. Buddy was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was a member of the Kingsport Antique Car Club, a SCOSA coach, referee and worked with field maintenance. Buddy attended Indian Springs Baptist Church.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 47years, Brenda Rodgers of the home; son, Charles W. Rodgers of Kingsport; daughter, Cyrena Fletcher and husband, Rayford of Kingsport; and 2 granddaughters, Catrina Fletcher and Cora Fletcher.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Indian Springs Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:30 pm with Dr. Roc Collins officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Rodgers, Harvey Herron, Jim Collier, Charlie Ball, Eric Kent and Chad Stokes.
