Charles Leroy Fisher

Charles Leroy Fisher, 69, passed Wednesday evening, March 11, 2009, at Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport.

He was born January 19, 1940, in Baldwin, New York, and spent most of his adult life in the Blountville area.

Charles was a devoted husband and a loving and caring father and grandfather. He retired from Mead after more than 25 years of service and was a member of Adams Chapel United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Helen Fisher.

Surviving are his daughter, Terry L. Griffin and husband James of Blountville, TN; one grandson, Kevin Griffin; a son, Bruce Fisher of Kingsport, TN; two granddaughters, Sara Faith Fisher and Mary Abigail Fisher; step-grandchildren, Scott Griffin, Denise Wrye; a sister-in-law, Anita Sturgill and husband Arthur of Norton, VA; and several nieces, nephews, step-great-grandchildren, and cousins.

The family would like to thank Indian Path Medical Center and the Veterans Administration. God bless you all.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Billy L. Byrd and Rev. Millard J. Johnson officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Gunnings Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #3/265. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Kingsport Senior Center.
