Charles M. "Charlie" Greer

Charles M. "Charlie" Greer, 88, Kingsport, died on Friday, November 28, 2014. He was born, December 21, 1925 in St. Petersburg, FL to Charles and Bernetta Greer. Charlie was a 1945 graduate of Virginia High School in Bristol, VA. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946 as a paratrooper. He was the owner of Auto Parts Co. and later Four Star Automotive. Charlie was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. He resided in Kingsport for over 56 years. Charlie Greer was a beloved member of the Baysmont Community. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandchild, Melissa Greer.

Charlie is survived by wife, Betty Ault Greer of Kingsport; children, Mark C. Greer of Kingsport, Julie G. Brantley of Richmond, VA, Angela Newton of Kingsport, and Dean Greer of Kingsport; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Laetitia "Pat" Greer Grimes of Slocomb, AL.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 5:30 pm on Sunday at St. Dominic Catholic Church.

The funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Monday at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Father Michael Cummins officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park with military honors by V.F.W. Boone Dam Post #4933.
