Charles "CJ" Lane

Charles Joseph Lane, Jr., 87, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2023. He worked at Mason Dixon Tank Line for 40 years and was a proud member of Teamsters. Charles enjoyed watching ball games and golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Maude Lane; daughter, Diane Ford; great-granddaughter, Aubree Ford; and several brothers and sisters.

Charles is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bonnie Lane; daughter, Rebecca Murray; son, Randal Lane and wife Sue; grandchildren, Jennifer Ford, Amanda Johnson and husband, Shannon, and Bryanna Murray; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jimmy and Wesley Lane; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ronnie Ledford officiating.

Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park with military honors given by The American Legion Posts #3/265.
