Charles Mathieson

Charles B. "Chuck" Mathieson, 98, of Kingsport, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012. A native of Summerville, Massachusetts, he came to Kingsport in 1946 to work with J. Fred Johnson Company. Charles served with the U.S. Air Force during WW II. He and his wife owned and operated Tri-Cities Corporation in shoe sales at Nettie Lee Shops throughout the Tri-Cities area. He was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Mathieson of Kingsport; daughter, Edith Irene Mathieson Wolfe and husband David Riley Wolfe of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Deborah Wolfe Cooper of Omaha, Nebraska, and Brian David Wolfe of Denver, Colorado; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 9th from 12-2:00 pm at First Broad Street United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 with Rev. Mickey Rainwater officiating.

Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jack Greene, Danny Howe, Joe Morley, Joe Bettini, Dr. Bob Northrop and Hugh Penland. Honorary pallbearer will be Rev. J. Spurgeon McCartt.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to First Broad Street United Methodist Church, 100 East Church Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660.
