Charles Sands

Charles ?Bue? Sands, 74, Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 28, 2007 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after an extended illness.

A lifelong resident of Kingsport, Charles was employed with Interstate Paving retiring a number of years ago.

He attended Pilgrim?s Rest Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Paul and Polly Sands; and two sisters, Dorothy Pauline Shortt and Virgie Arlena Miller.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Miller Sands, Kingsport; a number of nieces and nephews who appreciated his sense of humor and mischievous ways to get a laugh; a brother-in-law and spouse; six sisters-in-law and spouses; and many friends.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Lawrence E. Wolfe and Rick Wallace officiating.

Burial will follow at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
