Charles "Skippy" Slaughter, 59, died July 16, 2009 at the VA Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Mr. Slaughter was born on July 13, 1950 in Kingsport, TN, the youngest of two children.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Slaughter, and father, Jim Lee Slaughter.
Mr. Slaughter is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Doug and Kay Littrell of Knoxville, TN; his two sons, Chad Slaughter of Birmingham, AL and Wesley Slaughter of Colorado Springs, CO; and four grandchildren, Charles, Seth, Amelia, and William.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, July 19th at 2:00 p.m. at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with Pastor Bryon Moore officiating.
His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations are sent to The VA Hospital-Birmingham, 700 19th Street S, Birmingham, AL 35233-1927.
