Charles Thomas Thornburg

Charles Thomas Thornburg, 82, of the Kingsport Highway, the Pleasant Hill Community, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Greene County. Charles was retired from Magnavox.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Edith Thornburg; brother and sister-in-law, Odean and Frances Thornburg; and son-in-law, Anthony Mejia, Jr.

Charles is survived by his daughter and grandson, Connie and Shaun; nieces, Debra and Chrystal; nephew, Thomas "Tommy"; and special friends and neighbors, Richard Jackson and Michael Reynolds.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12-2:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ronnie Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Special thanks to Dr. Joe Austin and nurse, Vicki for the years of care given to Charles.
