Charlie Jack Roberts, 96, of Kermit, Virginia passed away peacefully at home Saturday morning June 20, 2009.
He was born March 21, 1913 to the late Susan Thompson and Charlie Patton Roberts. Mr. Roberts retired from Tennessee Eastman Company after 39 years service. He was a member of Rock Heritage Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Alice Faye Roberts; son, Charlie P. Roberts; first wife of 62 years, Georgia Catron Roberts; second wife, June Luster Roberts; five brothers; and five sisters.
Surviving are his daughters, Frances Kramer and husband, Gerry; Betty Eads and husband, Garry, and Nancy Jennings and husband, Stuart; daughter-in-law, Shirley Roberts; sister, Bessie Freeman Baker, of Washington, IL; step-daughter, Martha France and husband, Larry; step-son, David Luster and wife, Brenda; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Garry Eads and Pastor Larry Tolley officiating.
Burial will be follow at Holston View Cemetery.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
