Charlie Thomas Tom Shipley, 57, of Kingsport passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012.
Tom was born in Kingsport where he was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Sullivan West High School and East Tennessee State University. Tom was owner and operator of Landscapes Unlimited with over forty years of landscaping experience.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved music and cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay V. and Teba Light Shipley; infant brother, Clay Monroe Shipley; son-in-law, Sgt USMC Michael Speer; niece Melissa Anne Littleton; two brothers-in-law, Ronnie Gene Littleton and Albert H. Keisling, Jr.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Beulah Burke Keisling and Albert H. Keisling, Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" K. Shipley; two daughters, Holly Amber Davenport and Eliza Kate Speer; four grandchildren, Max Z. Collins, Ava M. Rose, Carter Cash Speer, and Justice Zeb Lavender; sisters, Betty Wanda Shipley and Beatrice Kay Martin; brother, Carl Donald "Joe" Shipley and wife Linda; nephews, Christopher "Chris" Littleton and wife Crystal, Terry Neil McClure and wife Wendy; Kenneth Martin and wife Autumn, Mike Martin; niece, Amy Elizabeth Fincher and husband Andy; great-nieces, Heather and Ashley Littleton, Erica Nicole Martin, and Cassie Martin; and great-nephew, Kenneth Dale Lee Martin; sister-in-law, M. Karen McClure and husband Terry; and brother-in-law, Edward "Bud" Keisling and wife Sylvia.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Fall Branch chapel with Dr. Rick Light officiating. Burial will follow at Light Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Christopher "Chris" Littleton, Kenneth Martin, Mike Shipley, Ray Harless, Tony Ward, Mark Crawford, Hank Thouin III, and Chad Horton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Childress, Steve Britt, Chad Correll, Randy "Bo" Blakley, Phillip Ward, and Scott Crawford.
