Charlotte Ann Sturgill

Charlotte Hickman Sturgill of Jonesborough, TN, was called home early Monday morning, June 17, 2013, due to apparent congestive heart failure. Charlotte had lived in Kingsport most of her life and was a graduate of Sullivan High School, class of 1960.

Charlotte worked as a secretary in Maryland for the U.S. Naval Department until she retired in 1978. She lived in Jonesborough upon returning from Maryland. She was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles "Stoney" Hickman and Ilene Morelock Hickman and one step son, Dale Sturgill.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, Johnny Sturgill, Jonesborough, TN; sister, Kathy J. Hickman of Kingsport, TN; brother, Ricky Hickman and wife Kathy D. Hickman of Kingsport; step-daughter, Missy Whitaker and husband, Bo of Jonesborough; two step-granddaughters, Meadow Sturgill and Kristen Whitaker; and step-grandson, Brandon Whitaker.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Hamlett-Dobson Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Virgil Anders officiating.

The graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013, at Washington County Memory Gardens.

The Pallbearers will be Gary Morelock, David O'Roark, Danny Ferguson, Darrell Ferguson, Wayne Goad, and Charles Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Cartwright and Bob Workman.
