Charmie Lane, 74, of Kingsport, gained her angel wings on August 11, 2015. She was a member of Salvation Army Church, Home League.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy Smith and Elsie Harris; her husband, Benjamin Franklin Salyer; two grandchildren, Trinity Taylor and Brandy Mullins; brother, Charles "Rickey" Smith; step-father, Herbert "Herb" Harris; and one great-grandson, Dakota Taylor.
Charmie is survived by her children, Patricia Kilgore and husband, Roy of Church Hill, Lisa Quillen of Kingsport, Benny Lee Salyer of Kingsport, and Travis Lane of Kingsport; step-daughter, Linda Carter and husband, Mario of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Summer Salyer, Derrick Salyer, and step-grandson, Riki Buchanan; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Taylor, Hope Ford, and Faith Ford; three brothers, Homer Smith and wife, Cathy of Nashville, TN, Orville Smith and wife, Brenda of Kingsport, and Thomas Smith of Blountville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12 to 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport or anytime at the home of her daughter, Patricia or the home of her sons, Benny and Travis. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel.
Burial will follow with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
