Chester A. Bruner

Chester A. Bruner, 95, of Kingsport passed away Tuesday evening, January 30, 2018 at Asbury Place at Kingsport.

Born in Saginaw, Michigan on February 28, 1922, he was a son of the late Guy D. and Beatrice Bruner.

Chet was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Chemical Engineering. After graduation he moved to Kingsport and went to work for over 40 years at Tennessee Eastman.

Bonnie and Chet were Charter Members of Waverly Road Presbyterian Church where they both served as Deacons and Elders. Chet also served as treasurer and clerk of the session.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Bonnie Spencer Bruner, October 13, 2016 and a granddaughter, Elizabeth A. Bruner.

Chet is survived by sons, James Allen Bruner of Kettering, OH and David Spencer Bruner and wife Debby McLean Bruner of Irmo, SC; grandchildren, Marianne Baur and husband Marc, Jennifer Fishinger and husband Bill; great-grandchildren, Patric Calliham, Andrew Baur, Mary McLean Baur and Emma Baur; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service for Chester A. and Bonnie S. Bruner will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Waverly Road Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Collin Blair Adams officiating. The family will receive friends following services. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Waverly Road Presbyterian Church, 1415 Waverly Road, Kingsport, TN
