Chester B. Hall, Jr., passed away late Thursday evening, May 21, 2009, after a brief illness.
Chester was a graduate of Sullivan High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Carson Newman College and a Master's Degree from East Tennessee State University. He had been employed by the Sullivan County School System for the past 38 years. He taught school at Kingsley Elementary, Indian Springs Elementary, and served as Principal of Temple Star Elementary until it closed. His current position was Math Teacher at Sullivan Middle School.
Chester had also served as Staff Sergeant of the 1129th Transportation Company in the Army National Guard. He was a charter member of the Great Body Company and an avid NASCAR fan.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Chester B. Hall, Sr. and Mary Fulkerson Hall; and a sister, Patsy Butler.
Surviving are his wife, Mitzi Gott Hall, one son, J. Cody Hall, and one daughter, Carrie Beth Hall, all of the home; and one sister, Mrs. JoAnne Haybert of Key Largo, FL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 ? 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A private family graveside service will be held with Jesse Wooten officiating.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Indian Path Medical Center's ICU for the care, compassion, and love shown to the Hall Family during the past three weeks.
