Christine Lunsford departed this life on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Baysmont Healthcare Center, Kingsport. She is born October 30, 1924 in Kulmbach, Bavaria.
Christine earned her laboratory technologist degree from the Technical University of Berlin during World War II, and after the war, worked as an English interpreter for the U.S. Army of Occupation in the American Sector where she met and married her late husband. When they settled in Kingsport, Christine worked as a medical lab technologist at the Holston Valley Medical Center, the offices of Dr. W.C. Eversole and the Holston Medical Group until her retirement.
She was a lifelong Lutheran and very active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Kingsport for over 60 years. She was a faithful member of the Parish Choir and diligent worker in all the ministries of the Women's Circle.
Christine is survived by two nieces, Ruby King of Big Stone Gap, VA and Jimmie Joyce Mahaffey of Melbourne, FL, and a grand-niece, Connie King Cabasa and husband Gene, of Las Vegas, NV.
A memorial service will be held, 3pm Sunday, November 1, 2015, All Saints' Day, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Steve Counts presiding.
