Christine Miller Rutherford

Christine Miller Rutherford, 97, of Kingsport, died Tuesday morning, March 26, 2013, at Wexford House after an extended illness. Born in Lee County, VA, she had resided in Kingsport since 1977. Christine was a homemaker and a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Lynch, KY and attended Bible Baptist Church. Her joy in life was spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul B. Rutherford, three brothers and seven sisters.

Christine is survived by her children, Paulette Rutherford of the home, Rosemary Pleasant and husband, James, Sharon Hawkins and husband, Danny and Roger L. Rutherford and wife, Gloria, all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Kimberley Bonner, Michelle Pierce, Heather Russell, Kristen McConnell, Michael Rutherford and Thomas Rutherford; three great-granddaughters; nine great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29th at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Don McCann officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA.
