Christopher (Chris) E. Goins, 53, of Kingsport, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, September 23, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born in Whittier, California, February 10, 1961.
A life-long resident of Kingsport, Tennessee, Chris attended Dobyns-Bennett High School and the University of Tennessee. Chris spent many years in sales for local radio stations and newspapers. For the last 13 years, Chris devoted his life to the service of others through recovery ministries at several area churches, including, Celebration Church, First Church of the Brethren, Freedom in Christ Church and Providence Church. He had a huge heart for people in need and worked tirelessly to help others break the cycle of addiction with the help and strength of his Lord, Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Evelyn Goins, and his brother, John Goins.
Surviving are his devoted and loving wife of 28 years, Kristy Seal Goins; his son, Jeremiah Goins; his daughter, Kristin Goins; his brother, Tim Goins; brother-in-law, Mike Seal; special in-laws, Wayne and Judy Seal; nephews, Mason Goins and Houston Seal; his aunt, Irene Kincaid; and aunt and uncle, Erma and Millard Burton; special friends who are family, David and Gina Lee, Andrew Gibson, Robin Cleary, Ginger and Jake Davison, and Joel and Tammy Trigg.

The family would like to thank the nurses in the Holston Valley ICU for their wonderful care and compassion. The family would also like to thank all of their amazing friends and family for their overwhelming love and support during this difficult time.
Family will receive friends from 3-6 pm, Friday, September 26th at Celebration Church. Funeral to follow at 6 pm with Pastor Joel Trigg officiating. Graveside service will be at East Lawn Memorial Park at 11 am Saturday, September 27th. The family asks that everyone meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am.
