Cindy McNew Vineyard, 42, Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord when she won her battle with breast cancer on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Holston Valley Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and was a graduate of Sullivan South High School, class of 1995 and East Tennessee State University, class of 1999. Cindy attended West Colonial Hills Baptist Church. She dedicated her life to serving and educating children with special needs. Cindy was a loved teacher, mentor and friend to all who knew her at Holston Middle School.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Junior Vineyard, and by her grandparents.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Eddie Vineyard; daughter, Eden Hope Vineyard; son, Evan Chance Vineyard; parents, Tom and Ella McNew; mother-in-law, Jane Vineyard; 2 sisters, Missy Blount and husband, Doug, and Jennifer Green and husband, Jacob; niece, Grace Blount; 4 nephews, Jared Vineyard, Jimmy Blount, Jake Green and Avery Vineyard; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Kim Vineyard; and a host of other family, friends, school family and students.
The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 pm on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Holston Middle School Gymnasium. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Roger Vineyard, Dr. Brad Davis and Pastor Greg Cercone officiating. Music will be provided by Damon Depew and Eden Vineyard.
The graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Holston View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jared Vineyard, Jacob Green, Jimmy Blount, Doug Blount, Matt Street and Marshall McMurray. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Green, Avery Vineyard and Eddie Street.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Edwin McElroy and his staff at the Cancer Center, and also the nurses and doctors at Holston Valley Medical Center for the excellent care they gave Cindy.
