Clamon Stewart, Mt. Carmel, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015. He was born on May 18, 1930 to Venus and Miles Stewart in Scott County, VA. Clamon graduated from Rye Cove High School in 1947 and served during the Korean conflict in the 40th Infantry Division. After returning from service he made his home in Kingsport. Clamon retired from Holston Defense as foreman after 31+ years.

He served as president of Central Baptist Association for several years. Clamon sang in the choir and taught the Men's Bible Class. He also served as deacon at Pleasant View Church where he was a member.

Clamon was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings, Alice, Opal, Walter, Bill, Tom, Hubert, Lillian and Olen Stewart; mother and father-in-law, Rev. Curtis and Gladys Adams.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Serena Adams Stewart; two nieces, Tommy Nelle Ridenour and husband, Gary, and Gwen Stipe and husband, Eddie; two nephews, Greg Stewart and wife, Kassie, and Kenneth Stewart and wife, Sylvia; and two first cousins, Jimmy Stewart and wife, Mary Louise, and J. C. Stewart.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12-1:30 pm at Pleasant View Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm with Pastor Wayne Baker, Rev. Jimmy Combs and Larry Crawford officiating.

Burial will follow the service in Holston View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Click, Daniel Henard, Jim Rose, Bobby Larkins, Alfred Ward and Kent Hightower.
